When talking to Ted, the big boss man at Hyskore, about their shooting rests we briefly touched on the Ten Ring Portable Shooting Bench, but didn’t talk too much about it. Ted would send one along with the Track & Elevate Shooting Rest and the Dual Damper Shooting and Sighting Rest. We left it at that.
When the Ten Ring Portable Shooting Bench arrived our tune changed a bit. Of the three products that Hyskore sent for review, the Shooting Bench looks like it may be the one that gets the most use. The Gear Report team already knew that setting up a stable portable shooting station in the field was challenging. We have struggled with combinations of wobbly card tables, clamped on homemade shooting support boards, etc. and always wondered why no one seemed to make a portable shooting bench that was strong, stable, light enough that we wouldn’t dread hauling it around, and compact enough when packed that it would easily fit into any of our vehicles. Could the Hyskore Ten Ring Portable Shooting Bench be the answer to our prayers? Can’t wait to get it out in the field for live fire testing.

Hyskore Ten Ring Portable Shooting Bench accessories

    • 8 hard mount points for screw-in accessories (4 on each side) like a spotting scope
  • Hyskore Ten Ring Portable Shooting Bench spotting scope mount bracketDurable: heavy duty bolts and welded MG-42 style feet

Build quality –

  • Good quality paint, well applied
  • Welds appear to be well done
  • All of the holes lined up properly and there was no binding in any of the bolts
  • Feels pretty stable when assembled and the legs are tightened.

Hyskore Ten Ring Portable Shooting Bench leg bolt1st impressions –

  • Josejuan doesn’t like the look of the T-bolts that secure the legs. Thinks they would add to the quality look of the bench if they were manufactured as one piece instead of by welding a rod to the head of a bolt. Jeff thinks it looks fine… sort of industrial, heavy duty
  • We like that there are 2 positions on each leg, so the table can be raised or lowered, giving 2 heights
  • We like the metal loops on the bottom of the bench that look like they could be use for attaching backpack type carrying straps
  • Hyskore Ten Ring Portable Shooting Bench padded rifle support V-notchJosejuan REALLY likes that there are mounting positions on both the left and right of the table for attachments like spotting scopes. This is a big plus for left handed shooters who are often not thought of when products are designed
  • The front rifle rest is screwed in to a static height. To change the height you have to take the rifle out of the V and rotate the entire rifle rest post. Contrast this to the Primos sled where you can raise or lower the front rest with the rifle in place. Would be nice if a swivel were added to the V-notch post so that it can pivot independent of the height adjustment
